Terms

Glass Box is a free, open-source educational toy made by Birch Tree Studio. By using it you agree to the following, which we’ve tried to write like a person rather than a lawyer.
Use it
The demo is free and needs no account. The source is available under MIT OR Apache-2.0 at github.com/franklinrussell/glass-box. Read it, fork it, teach with it, take the model apart.
What it is and isn’t
This is a 10,937-parameter model trained on 58 sentences about animals sitting on furniture. It cannot reason, cannot answer questions, and cannot tell you anything true about the world — the only thing it learned is the shape of one very small pattern. Do not use anything it generates as information, advice, or fact. It is a demonstration of mechanism, not a source of knowledge.
Don’t
- Don’t present its output as factual or as anyone’s statement
- Don’t abuse the save endpoint or try to break other people’s accounts
- Don’t use the service to break the law
Accounts
Signing in with GitHub is optional and only enables saving runs. You’re responsible for your GitHub account. We can suspend an account that’s being used abusively. You can delete your saved runs at any time from your runs page.
No warranty
Glass Box is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. It might go down, change, or disappear. To the extent the law allows, Birch Tree Studio isn’t liable for any damages arising from your use of it. Saved runs are not a backup service — keep your own copy of anything you care about.
Changes
If these terms change materially we’ll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site means the new version applies.
